Mst Reshma Khatun has persued her B.Pharm and M.S. in Pharmaceutical Science degrees from Jahangirnagar University. She has working experience for about 5 years in two renowned pharmaceuticals of Bangladesh; Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Aristopharma Ltd as QC officer and senior product development officer respectively.
While working in Aristopharma Ltd., she got ‘Graduate Scholarship’ (100% of tuition waiver) to pursue her MSc. in Graduate School of Medicine, Ajou University, Republic of Korea. She carried out her thesis research, supervised by a physician scientist, following several core molecular biology techniques and using mammalian cell lines & gene knockout mice model as well. She identified gender difference in the skeletal muscle aging and regulation of myosin heavy chain expression by TIS21 gene (a tumor suppressor gene) in the C57BL/6J mice which was interesting finding regarding TIS21 gene function. In the meantime, she received an award of training grant in Ajou University Graduate School to study in Japan and perform the experiments about the effects of BTG2/TIS21 gene on gastric cancer cell stiffness by using atomic force microscope in Oncology Center, Saitama University,Japan for 3 weeks based on the MOU between Saitama University and Ajou University Graduate School of Medicine. During the training, she attended JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) core-to core program symposium (29 th & 30 th Jan, 2018) at Tokyo, Japan. In addition to that, she presented her poster in the ‘Ajou Biomedical Conference’ (27 th & 28 th Apr,2018) at Pyeongchang, Korea and in the ‘International Conference of the Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology’ (12-14 Sep, 2017) at COEX Center in Seoul, Korea. She also completed the Education for LMO (Living Modified Organism) Research Facility Users (Dec 1,2016) in National Research Safety Headquarters, Korea. Moreover, she is expertise in genotyping, protein extraction from rodent tissues and cells, blotting and probing, quantitative real-time PCR, RT-PCR, bacterial transformation, DNA &siRNA transfection, virus transduction, extraction of gDNA, DNA & RNA, agarose gel electrophoresis, gene cloning, reporter gene assay, and establishing stable cell lines. She has
some paper publications in National, International and SCI journal. Her research interest is in cancer biomarker study, loss-of & gain-of-function of gene of interest responsible for cancer and toxicological study.
